Mac B. Gill graduated from the University of Iowa in 2020 with an MLIS in Library and Information Science, an MFA in Literary Translation and a graduate certificate in Public Digital Humanities.
Her main interests are in archives and digital humanities which are both coming to life in this project. Her research seeks to make this classic text more accessible and interactive to students, as well as asking scholars to consider the text in new ways. Her work on mapping the locations from the Tale digitally is an effort to ask readers to move the analytical discussion away from exclusively a Heian-kyo centered dialogue. Mac's other areas of research include incense and its place in the society and literature of Heian Era Japan. She also translates modern Japanese fiction. |
